  In this video, we take a look at some of the inbuilt software of the Verizon Motorola Droid X, plus put the device head-to-head with the iPhone 4 and Google Nexus One running on Froyo. To start, the Droid X has some neat applications built in. You can use the 3G mobile hotspot app, but it's going to cost you $20 extra on your bill, plus there is a 2GB data cap. You can expect to get speeds similar to what a MiFi would bring, so about 1.5mbps down, and about 1mbps up. We talk briefly about the DLNA support which allows you to integrated multiple supported devices for multimedia playback. It's still unclear as to whether this standard will be popular, but a lot of new TVs and smartphones are coming with the standard built in. Then we do a web browser comparison against the iPhone 4 and Nexus One with Froyo. The results? The Droid X beat both devices most of the time in terms of page load times, which is great too see, and reflects the overall robust performance of the Droid X. Also, having the larger screen made web browsing more immersive.

All four browsers are using hardware acceleration (I think; not sure about Opera), but you can clearly see Firefox and IE9 beating Opera and Chrome (by some margin!) Just something I made with like 5 minutes worth of quick editing. Anyways, for some more info, the game is not called Mortal Kombat 9, they're most likely just going to call it Mortal Kombat and reboot the franchise. It is set to release in March 2011. There are going to be 26 characters + one slot for DLC which can hold as many characters the devs want there to be. This is not related to that short film that was released a little while ago, that was a fan-made project without any official involvement. The game is being handled by Ed Boon (the original creator), so even though Midway is gone now, it doesn't mean the game won't retain the original feeling. They are going for a true fighting system with every character feeling different, but still retaining the original feeling. They are aiming for it to be balanced, like a true fighter. The game is going to release on ps3, and 360. No word on a PC or Wii release.
