Announce a recall of millions of pounds of beef and, yeah, sure, people worry. But announce a recall of Girl Scout cookies and people might freak out. Luckily, the current recall of some Lemon Chalet Cremes was pretty small. And even if you wind up buying some of the affected batch, the cookies might smell and taste bad, but they’re perfectly safe to eat. Little Brownie Bakers, the Louisville, Ky.-based company that is one of two makers of Girl Scout cookies, says the problem was caused by a breakdown of oil used to make the cookies .
