Quick post from the road – day 2 NZ
Just waiting for my pick up to visit Felton Road. Slept all through from 8pm to 7.30am, after drifting off to sleep watching the first of the 10 hour-long episodes of Mondovino uncut. Very entertaining, but I was horridly jetlagged. Yesterday evening I had one of the best burgers of my life at the famous Fergburger. Fergberger and fries is too much...
Lamb and Mint Salad
Lamb and Mint Salad
After a long hiatus from YouTube , I’m back with a new camera and lighting equipment:-) This was a quick salad I threw together using a couple lamb steaks, green peaches (yep you read that right), mint and mizuna greens. Somewhere between a British sunday dinner and a Southeast Asian salad, this quick meal comes together in less than 10...

Chocolate Caramel Banana Tarts & A CookBook For Haiti
What I am happy and honored to announce below is closely related to the Chocolate Caramel Banana Tart above. But I need your attention for 2 paragraphs before I tell you more about the tart. Roast lamb. Such a classic dish, particularly around Easter time – but one that can be a little daunting if you haven’t tackled roasting a whole hunk of meat before. Now my friends, do I have a treat for you. We’re talking a super simple pot roast. A dish that takes about 10 minutes to get ready then you just pop it in the oven...

I’m coming here empty handed today. Well almost…Looks like I won’t be around here much this week and I apologize for that. I was hoping to have pictures of some of the behind the scene moment of the work for Carrie’s cookbook but I got to tell you, when 2am rolls around…I have no more energy left to bake and write....
Souped-up meals to warm up snow days
Souped-up meals to warm up snow days
Every time I’ve looked out the window this week, I’ve felt a childlike glee at the sight of all the snow piled up. A whopping 18″ dropped in 24 hours last weekend, a few more inches covered that earlier this week, and more is in the forecast. I really sympathize with the folks further south ( south! ) who have had twice as much...
Pinot Noir 2010, day three
Last day of Pinot Noir 2010. I’m feeling tired – you have to remember that this is not an academic symposium. It’s largely about eating, drinking, meeting people, having fun and generally partying. I was out last night with a small group of winemakers and journalists for a fun party hosted in someone’s home. We drank some beautiful...
