Help Me Get on Oprah

Lunch Break: Radish and Watercress Salad
The cray-zee schedule has officially started! Well, I kicked it off a week ealier than previously planned and I am quite glad I did. We all know that it’s not because you have one important thing on the agenda that everything else takes a backseat. Season 7 of Bravo’s Top Chef will be based in Washington, D.C., reported the Metrocurean (no relation) a few days ago, with filming to begin in early April. School Lunch Meat Safety Improved to … Fast Food Status
Industrial Ground Beef The USDA is enacting more stringent safety regulations for ground meats provided to school lunch programs. This will bring the safety programs up to the safety levels of no less than … hold your breath … fast food burgers. The U.S. Agriculture Department announced Friday that it will require all ground beef purchased...
Quinoa Mushroom Pilaf
Tasty quinoa pilaf with mushrooms, peppers and Greek seasoning. In between bouts of rain and nostalgia (I prickle using the word nostalgia, to be honest; it smacks of sentimentality, not a trait I cultivate or suffer gladly, but I’ll get to that later) I’ve been craving quinoa like there’s no tomorrow, as if I’m living in my...

In addition to Michelle Obama, USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack is pushing for the removal of junk food from schools. Gluten-Free Chocolate Love
How do I love thee, Dear Reader? Let me count the ways. And if you wouldn’t mind indulging me (just a little) let me count them in chocolate- that buttery dark bitter sweetness that coaxes even the no good very bad surliest day to soften its grip. Consider this my chocolate valentine to you. For starters, let me thank you with a wake-up call....

I’m in Atlanta for the next few days and very excited to be meeting a whole bunch of bloggers and foodies I only know via the screen.
