Vitamins that Kill
A great article called The Vita Myth appeared earlier this week in online magazine Slate. Science writer Emily Anthes tears apart the $25B-a-year-and-growing supplement industry. Most Dietary Supplements Are Tainted
Nearly every dietary supplement available at your local health food store contains contaminants. It could be lead, mercury, arsenic, or other heavy metals. Taking Aim at Big Food’s "Dr. Evil"
Richard Berman is a lobbyist who thinks pretty much any claim that the food industry ever does anything wrong is a lie. Or that’s what he says he thinks, in return for money from the food industry. He does the same for the tobacco industry and the booze business. Because he lies a lot and for other reasons, he has been called “Dr....

The only reason it made a splash was because the company bought up all the national TV time on Saturday Night Live one night. The ads themselves were clichéd and anemic—stuff about the brew’s “drinkability”...

No Surprises: US Leads in Processed Food Consumption
photos: New York Times A brief note buried inside last week’s NY Times business section did not garner too much attention, but is worth spending a few minutes discussing.
